CR Fashion Book founder and former Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld has always championed diversity and female empowerment within the fashion industry. And she combined both in her latest project: a 2018 calendar that’s sexy, strong and gives back in a big way.
Shot by famed photographer Steven Klein, the CR Girls 2018 with TECHNOGYM calendar mixes fitness and fashion and stars the major models of the moment including Gigi Hadid, Halima Aden, Paris Jackson, Grace Elizabeth, Joan Smalls, Hailey Clauson, Hoyeon Jung, Binx Walton, Eniko Mihalik, Hannah Ferguson, Joelle Lombardi, Danielle Herrington and Candice Swanepoel.
“This casting includes both iconic supermodels and fresh faces in a modern representation of beauty and body,” said Roitfeld in a statement. “It’s about the multiplicity of woman in the year 2018.”
Each model was “chosen for their unique style, personality and iconic look,” and CR Fashion Book teamed up with fitness company TECHNOGYM to show off the women’s strength as they strike strong poses with workout equipment.
All proceeds from the calendar, on sale for $200 now, will go to the Special Olympics, a cause close to Rotifeld’s heart as her personal trainer is visually impaired.
“I am in awe of any person who devotes their mind and body to athletics, but especially those with disabilities,” she shared. “This is the definition of courage. I am pleased the proceeds of this calendar support the Special Olympics—an organization I greatly respect—and to promote the visibility of its efforts.”
Jackson, 19, tells PEOPLE that she jumped at the chance to collaborate with Roitfeld again, for such a worthy cause.
“Working with Carine is such a lovely experience,” Jackson told PEOPLE of shooting for the calendar, out now. “I can’t thank her enough for being so incredibly kind and helping me learn about the fashion world.”
Roitfeld gave Jackson one of her first big modeling breaks, putting her on the cover of issue 10 of CR Fashion book.
“She really took a chance by putting me on her cover as a total rookie,” Jackson added.
