As photos continue to surface from Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian, 34, New Orleans nuptials, the 36-year-old tennis champion is taking fans behind the scenes of the home she stayed in while in the Big Easy.
“Is this the most gorgeous home you’ve ever seen?” Williams said in her story. “It’s so perfect, I absolutely love it.”
The beautifully renovated 1880s historic Greek Revival mansion — which sleeps 25, features eight bedrooms, 18 beds, five full baths, three half baths, and a separate guest cottage — is located in lower Treme, the oldest African-American neighborhood in the country and just steps away from the French Quarter and Marigny/Frenchmen Street.
Though it has old-world charm, the luxurious modern amenities which Williams showed off on the the tour bring the space into the 21st century.
Most of Williams’ bridesmaids seemed to congregate in the sizeable eat-in kitchen, it’s barn-inspired design accented with navy cabinets, a wood kitchen island and an oversized dining table with clear plastic dining chairs.
There were also three airy traditional Southern sitting parlor common spaces and one cozy family room — all decorated with unique contemporary flourishes like leather couches, industrial coffee tables and oversized artwork.
“I’m obsessed with old houses,” Williams explained as she panned the camera on the rooms fireplaces and crown moldings. “Look how cool this is. I love the painting. I love old architecture. There’s just something really warm about it.”

While Williams didn’t venture upstairs, the bedrooms all have their own en-suite bathrooms with glass-enclosed showers and claw-foot bathtubs.
Outside, Williams attempted to capture the other homes where members of her wedding party and style team were staying. Sadly, the nighttime sky couldn’t show off the property’s leafy courtyard. “I know it’s dark but it’s so cool because next door is where everyone is staying, like hair and makeup and some of the bride people,” she said.
She also gave plenty of praise to Home Away. “This is my perfect Home Away home. So cool. I love this house,” Williams gushed. “Homeaway, it’s so amazing, I love it. .. .Thank you again Home Away form the perfect NoLa houses during my wedding week.”
